Skilled Medical is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Psychiatric Specialist to join our team in New South Wales, Australia.

Job Overview

This permanent part-time position (0.5FTE) will involve working across a Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre and its associated emergency department(s) within the Adult Inpatient Stream of the health districts Mental Health Service.

Your Key Responsibilities

">

You will provide psychiatric assessment, treatment, care planning, and clinical oversight of patients using person-centred, recovery-oriented, family/carer-inclusive, and trauma-informed principles of care.

">

Key qualities include being an effective communicator, collaborator, leader, health advocate, scholar, and professional who can proactively support the development of mental health services, facilitate a culture of learning and best practice, and participate in quality improvement and/or research efforts within the service.

A competitive salary package of $186,241 - $251,618 (dependent on experience), with an expected salary of $262,376 to $354,479 with allowances.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • ">
  • Specialist registration or eligible for specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)">
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and/or equivalent specialist recognition">
  • Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position">
  • Proven capacity and/or experience in the provision of effective high-quality services, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality improvement activities relevant to the specialty">
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching with experience in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students and other staff of the hospital">
  • Be accredited or be willing to become accredited as an RANZCP supervisor of psychiatry trainees">
