About the Role

Hastings Deering is seeking experienced and proactive Field Service Fitters to join our award-winning team in Toowoomba. We are looking for individuals with extensive experience in servicing, repairing, maintaining, and overhauling commercial engines, particularly those with commercial engines experience in the oil and gas industry.

The successful candidate will be required to have a strong background in diagnostics and maintenance of Caterpillar equipment, as well as experience with Caterpillar Diagnostic Systems (ET Vims, SIMSi and SIS). They will also be responsible for completing all repairs and maintenance in a safe and timely manner, planning and organizing daily service requirements, and maintaining and completing all paperwork associated with job completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintenance of Caterpillar equipment
  • Use of Caterpillar Diagnostic Systems (ET Vims, SIMSi and SIS)
  • Completion of all repairs and maintenance in a safe and timely manner
  • Planning and organization of daily service requirements
  • Maintenance and completion of all paperwork associated with job completion

About You:

  • Trade Qualified Diesel Fitter is essential
  • Demonstrated diagnostic experience on Caterpillar commercial engines
  • Demonstrated competency in the repair and maintenance of industrial engines, generator sets, and gas engines
  • Experience on stationary equipment, including crushers, compressors, and pumps
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Experience on Caterpillar Diagnostic Systems (SIMSi and SIS)
  • Commitment to a high level of workplace health and safety
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong commitment to quality control, CPS, and working to schedules
