
Marine Research Scientist

This is a highly skilled analytical role that requires expertise in laboratory analysis and fieldwork. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting routine and complex laboratory analyses, maintaining and using basic laboratory equipment, preparing reagents and calibration standards, and processing and interpreting analytical results.
The role involves working with a range of nutrient species, including nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, phosphate, silicate, salinity, and dissolved oxygen. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining and calibrating lab and shipboard analytical instruments, liaising with clients and stakeholders on data collection, processing, and issue resolution, and contributing to maintaining and improving laboratory management procedures.
The position requires a high degree of technical difficulty and involves supporting data collection and lab operations during sea-going research voyages. The candidate will work closely with national and international collaborators to deliver high-quality data and insights that underpin oceanographic studies, environmental monitoring, and climate research.
