Job Title: Junior Paediatric Surgical Specialist

Job Summary:

  • Provide medical care to young patients under the guidance of experienced surgical staff.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and patient caregivers throughout the treatment journey.

About The Role:

  • Deliver surgical services through clinical duties at a senior level.
  • Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively with other health professionals.
  • Interact effectively with patients and their caregivers, informing them about their medical care and involving them in decision-making.
  • Meet training requirements by participating in educational activities, including general paediatric surgery clinical meetings, grand rounds, and education sessions.
  • Meet assessment and professional development requirements through completion of assessment reports in conjunction with registrars and consultants.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate placements to improve training, education, and supervision for senior house officers.
  • Assist in teaching interns, medical students, and other team members.
  • Contribute to evidence-based practice and research.
  • Accurately document medical records and maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain a positive work environment that supports human resources management practices, employment equity, anti-discrimination, work health and safety, and ethical behavior.
