Job Summary:

An Anaesthetic Technician will support anaesthetists during complex and high-acuity surgical procedures, including cardiac, paediatric, and neuro surgeries.

The role is based within a busy 14-theatre environment, including a hybrid operating theatre, where the technician will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient administration of anaesthesia.

  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic setting with multiple complex cases.
  • Manage high-acuity and emergency situations that require rapid assessment and intervention.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver seamless care for patients undergoing complex and urgent surgeries.
  • Provide anaesthetic support for a wide range of operations, including cardiac, paediatric, and neuro procedures.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff in the provision of anaesthetic care.

Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Anaesthetic Technology
  • Minimum of 2 (two) years of experience as an anaesthetic assistant in a theatre environment.
  • Working rights in Australia
  • Flexibility to work shifts between 5pm - 11pm permanently
  • Experience in complex anaesthesia care, including cardiac, paediatric, and neuro surgeries.
  • Knowledge of advanced equipment, monitoring techniques, and emergency protocols.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience working in a hybrid operating theatre or advanced surgical settings.
  • Advanced Life Support certification.
  • Paediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
  • Experience with neuroanaesthesia and cardiothoracic surgery.
