Paediatric Cardiologist Position in Cairns

This position is ideal for those seeking a challenging and rewarding role in paediatric cardiology. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Paediatric Cardiologist to contribute to developing a tertiary paediatric cardiology service within Cairns Hospital and Health Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a tertiary paediatric cardiology service within Cairns HHS.
  • Provide ambulatory and inpatient care for children and young people requiring sub-speciality cardiology services.
  • Collaborate with Queensland Children's Hospital (QCH) to provide cardiac surgical and intervention services.
  • Participate in outreach programs to Torres and Cape HHS and Cairns and Hinterland HHS catchments.
  • Care for a population including many Indigenous children in remote communities with high rates of rheumatic heart disease.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualification in paediatric cardiology or relevant field.
  • Experience working with Indigenous populations and knowledge of Indigenous health issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
