About the Role

As a Senior Store Manager at WHSmith, you'll be responsible for leading a team to achieve outstanding customer satisfaction, identifying recruitment and training needs, rostering in a safe and compliant way, building relationships with key stakeholders, executing marketing initiatives, and managing stock replenishment and merchandising.

The ideal candidate will be a modest leader with strong initiative, excellent interpersonal skills, and robust retail management experience. You'll provide support and guidance across the terminal and have the ability to motivate and inspire your team to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a 'Customer first' culture to ensure our Service Guarantee is role-modelled and consistently implemented.
  • Identify recruitment and training needs of your team and develop strategies to address them.
  • Rostering in a safe, legal, and compliant way to maximise business opportunities and demands.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to drive sales growth and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Execute marketing initiatives and promotional cycles to drive foot traffic and increase sales.
  • Manage stock replenishment and merchandising in line with planograms to maintain visual standards and drive sales.
  • Provide feedback to Area and Operations Manager on performance or opportunities for improvement.

About You

The successful candidate will have 5 years of management experience in a fast-paced retail environment, leadership and mentoring abilities, experience managing the stock lifecycle, knowledge of rostering compliance, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to achieve targets and KPIs aligned with business requirements.

What We Offer
