Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Assistant

The role of the Facilities Maintenance Assistant plays a vital part in preserving the aesthetic appeal, cleanliness, and safety of facilities for students, staff, and visitors.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining order: Arrange furniture and equipment for meetings, classroom activities, and events.
  • Ensuring security: Secure facilities and grounds to minimize property damage and liability exposure.
  • Staying updated: Attend in-service training sessions for new procedures.
  • Cleanliness and organization: Clean assigned school facilities, including classrooms, offices, gym, multipurpose rooms, pools, grounds, desks, lunchroom, etc.
  • Additional duties: Perform various custodial functions as required.
  • Reporting incidents: Report incidents of vandalism, damages, and issues needing action.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Task focus: Ability to perform single tasks and occasionally upgrade skills.
  • Basic knowledge: Knowledge of basic math, written procedures, and safety practices.
  • Organizational skills: Ability to schedule activities, collate data, and use job-related equipment.
Working Conditions:

This position requires physical demands such as significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity.
