About This Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Protection Lead, Compliance Specialist to join our Group Risk division.

This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping how we protect customers' personal information and meet evolving regulatory expectations.

The successful candidate will guide the business through complex regulatory landscapes, including the Privacy Act, Credit Reporting Code, and Consumer Data Right Rules, influencing how we design products and transformation initiatives with privacy at their core.

This role requires someone who thrives on purpose, leads with integrity, and is passionate about making a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Crafting and maintaining robust privacy policies, consent mechanisms, and data handling protocols that reflect our commitment to transparency and trust.
  • Supporting comprehensive Privacy Impact Assessments and advising on breach management.
  • Embedding privacy into every customer journey and digital experience.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will bring deep expertise in data protection, compliance, and regulatory affairs within the banking or financial services sector.

Essential Skills and Experience Include:

  • A strong understanding of the Privacy Act, Credit Reporting Code, and the Consumer Data Right framework.
  • Proven ability to lead complex compliance initiatives and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset, problem-solving capabilities, and clear communication skills.
  • Familiarity with risk and control frameworks, including control design and assurance activities.
