
Data Protection Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Protection Manager to join our Legal Team. The Data Protection Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of data privacy and protection within WiseTech Global.
**The Opportunity**:
As part of a global team, you will:
- **Be responsible for governance strategy.**Work independently to implement and maintain a privacy governance framework to manage data use in compliance with applicable data protection, privacy, AI and management regulations.
- ** Manage compliance.**
- Create and manage data protection and privacy policies, standards and templates.
- Manage records of processing activities and data assets, assist with data mapping, data privacy assessments and vendor management reviews.
- Maintain a data security incident management plan to ensure timely remediation of incidents, including impact assessments, security breach response, complaints, claims or notifications.
- Stay up to date on laws across multiple jurisdictions, through data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant legislation.
- Manage websites and cookie legal compliance.
- Ensure Data Processing Agreements are in place.
- ** Respond to requests and incidents.**
- Manage responses in case of data incidents.
- ** Conduct training.**For internal teams on data protection and privacy and for customers through our WiseTech Academy.
- ** Be a contact person.**Serve as the primary point of contact for data protection with authorities and our data protection officer as well as internal stakeholders including the Legal Team, Governance, Risk and Compliance, IT and Information Security.
Ideally, this role would suit someone with:
- A degree in law, information technology, business administration or related field.
- Certification in data protection and privacy (e.g., CIPP/E, EU-DSGVO).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data protection or privacy compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, and able to develop positive working relationships across all levels and functions.
- The ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines.
- Detail-orientated and organized, able to grasp complex processes.
- Expertise in implementing tooling (e.g., Osano) and data protection solutions, including integration into core business processes.
- Project management experience.
- Fluency in English. German and additional language skills are an advantage.
