Renewable Energy Land Acquisition Specialist

Gransolar Group is a vertically integrated company specializing in solar photovoltaic energy and battery storage systems.
We are looking for a Land Acquisition Specialist to join our team at the Head Office.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Land Identification: Assessment of suitable sites for solar PV and/or BESS development through various mapping tools, feasibility studies, project budgeting and business case analysis.
- Landowner Management: Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing landowners.
- Site Visits: Undertaking site visits.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Interface with third parties such as local planning authorities and network service providers.
- Consultant Management: Management of land acquisition consultants and agents, when required.
- Team Collaboration: Coordination with other team members during the feasibility assessment of connection and planning.
- Negotiation: Engagement and negotiation with landowners for land exclusivity agreements, options to lease and options to purchase.
- Project Management: Managing project cash flow and budget control for planning activities.
- Legal Support: Liaising with internal and external lawyers to make informed decisions for property law aspects related to land lease for BESS and solar projects.
- Development Approval: Secure Development Approvals (DAs) for projects in any state and territory, including onboarding and managing consultants, coordinating and reviewing technical studies, meeting with relevant stakeholders and liaising with Grid, and Mergers and Acquisitions team members.
- Regulatory Compliance: Keep up to date with legislative changes across state and federal Governments pertaining to Planning and Renewable Energy Developments.
- Cash Flow Management: Managing project cash flow and budget control for planning activities.
- Community Engagement: Site visits to meet landowners, Registered Aboriginal Parties, communities, Councils and Government delegates as required through the Planning process.
- Project Governance: Adhering to a high standard of Project Management including project tracking and reporting processes, financial oversight, timing and scheduling.
- Grid Connection: Achieving an understanding of basic grid connection processes and the workstream that runs parallel to Planning & Approvals, including supporting the Grid Connection Manager with project information.
- Industry Knowledge: Building knowledge and understanding of the renewable energy industry including state and national energy policies.
- Networking: Networking through attendance to relevant industry conferences and networking events.
- Support Services: Supporting other duties and project development activities where required.
