Job Title: Renewable Energy Origination Specialist

The role of a Renewable Energy Origination Specialist involves identifying and developing opportunities for renewable energy projects. This includes site identification, screening, land access agreements, grid connection solutions, and early-stage planning processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the technical team in developing project layouts, managing relevant technical information, and producing reports.
  • Negotiating landowner agreements, legal dealings, and correspondence as required.
  • Managing external consultants to undertake studies throughout the development process.
  • Coordinating stakeholder consultation processes with local and/or State planning authorities, regulators, the public, landowners, and other stakeholders.
  • Producing Environmental Impact Statement documents, Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation referrals, and statutory applications required for project development.
  • Providing on-ground support for project needs across environmental approvals, stakeholders, and land access functions.
  • Collaborating with the technical team to support the electrical grid connection process.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in project development, renewable energy, or a related field such as land and approvals, commercial, stakeholder, environmental, planning, or project engineering.
  • Tertiary qualification in Renewable Energy, Planning, Environment, Geography, Business, Law, Engineering, or Science.
  • Current driving license.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of GIS and/or graphical software is beneficial.
  • Effective relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholders.
