About the Role

The Fraud Intelligence Lead is a critical position within Suncorp Group, responsible for supporting the Fraud Intelligence team in delivering timely, relevant, and actionable fraud insights and strategic fraud risk mitigation opportunities in Suncorp Insurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Business Operations: Collaborate with the business to design and improve existing automated fraud control measures, ensuring they are effective and efficient.
  • Identify Control Weaknesses: Analyze data to identify control weaknesses and provide recommendations for rectifications, ensuring the business is well-informed and equipped to manage risk.
  • Develop Intelligence Products: Devise and coordinate intelligence issue development projects, assessing intelligence operations across Suncorp Insurance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead the Intelligence Team: Provide direction, feedback, and support to the intelligence team, ensuring they are informed, engaged, and contributing to shared goals.
  • Provide Strategic Advice: Offer expert advice to the Insurance team to help them understand and manage detection risks, ensuring they are well-equipped to mitigate fraud.
  • Stay Ahead of the Curve: Understand innovative intelligence products that underpin the execution of the Fraud & Intelligence strategic plan, ensuring Suncorp Group remains at the forefront of fraud detection and prevention.
  • Foster Collaboration: Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, highlighting fraud insights and mitigating fraud risk through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Capability Uplift: Lead the capability uplift of Fraud & Intelligence practices, ensuring the team has the skills and expertise needed to drive business success.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least five years' experience creating insights and recommendations from qualitative and quantitative data, with a strong background in fraud, intelligence, criminology, or investigation.
  • Skills: Experience using or leveraging output from statistical tools such as SAS, Pentaho, and Tableau, as well as excellent report writing and editing skills, effective oral communication, and stakeholder management.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience successfully leading technical teams, with a proven track record of driving business outcomes and delivering results.
