About the Position

The La Trobe Rural Health School (LRHS) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engagement and Communications Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in coordinating communications and engagement activities that align with the strategic goals of the La Trobe Rural Health School and the Rural Health and Medical Training (RHMT) program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Communications Plans: Develop and implement comprehensive communications plans that align with the strategic goals of the La Trobe Rural Health School and the RHMT program.
  • Manage Communications Projects: Manage communications projects around events, campaigns, community engagement projects, and other initiatives that support the strategic goals of the La Trobe Rural Health School and the RHMT program.
  • Lead Cross-Channel Communications Strategies: Lead cross-channel communications strategies, including social media and media, to achieve impactful outcomes and contribute to the organisation's overall communication objectives.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with stakeholders, including the University's central media team, to secure media coverage and promote the work of the La Trobe Rural Health School and the RHMT program.
Requirements
  • Qualifications and Experience: A degree in media, public relations, or communications, or equivalent experience. At least four years' relevant experience as a journalist, media/public relations, or communications practitioner, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in developing comprehensive communications plans, project management skills, and the ability to independently design, deliver, and evaluate communications projects. Demonstrated ability to identify strong news angles and work with the University's central media team to secure media coverage. Evidence of successfully leading and implementing cross-channel communications strategies, including social media and media, to achieve impactful outcomes.
