Senior Tax Specialist

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our accounting team, providing technical leadership in tax planning, structuring, and compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Accounting team, coordinate jobs, and provide technical guidance on tax matters.
  • Evaluate and ensure technical proficiency and high standards of service delivery.
  • Review and approve tax returns prepared by the team members.
  • Manage work-in-progress, completion, and turnaround times to meet client expectations.
  • Achieve revenue targets through adherence to systems and processes.
  • Coach, develop, and train team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Oversee annual tax planning process, handle ATO and ASIC matters, and liaise with the ATO on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare tax returns, activity statements, financial statements, and work-papers.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's in Tax highly regarded).
  • CPA, CA, or CTA membership (Registered Tax Agent highly valued).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in tax management and leadership roles.
  • Strong time management and leadership skills, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Xero and Xero Practice Manager (XPM) software.
  • High standard of ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism in all interactions.
