About EMHAWSEstablished in 1976, Elizabeth Morgan House Aboriginal Women's Services Inc. (EMHAWS) is a proudly Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation providing culturally safe and empowering services to meet the unique needs of Aboriginal women and families.
We operate a high-security refuge and offer crisis accommodation, therapeutic support, advocacy, and culturally grounded case management programs.
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and committed Aboriginal Case Manager to provide trauma-informed, culturally safe, and empowering case management, advocacy, and practical support to women residing in our secure refuge.
The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive team to develop and lead culturally relevant group activities, maintain accurate client records, and collaborate with external services to promote strong sector relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct risk assessments, safety planning, and case plans that respect the cultural needs of clients.
- Provide crisis intervention, court support, and tenancy advocacy to ensure the best outcomes for clients.
- Support women with housing applications, daily parenting needs, and other essential services.
- Develop and lead weekend programs and group activities that cater to the cultural and emotional needs of clients.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to service planning, training, and continuous improvement.
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander female identity (mandatory).
- Relevant qualification in social work or related field, including experience working with Aboriginal women and children experiencing family violence.
- Strong understanding of the impacts of colonisation, trauma, and systemic barriers on Aboriginal women and families.
- Knowledge of MARAM, FVISS, and CISS frameworks, as well as experience in crisis response, advocacy, or housing support.
- Ability to work independently across varied locations and as part of a rostered team.
