About the role:
The position is within Family Services, part of the Family & Community Programs at Mackillop. It is based at the South Melbourne office and is part of the wider Family Services Team in Southern Melbourne, including Family Preservation & Reunification. The role involves working as part of the Southern Melbourne Family Services Alliance and reports to the IFS & Early Help Coordinator.
The Integrated Family Services Practitioner will provide casework within the Southern Melbourne Family Services Alliance, offering direct case management to families.
This is a Full-Time Fixed Term 38 hours per week – until 30.06.2026, based in Dandenong South, VIC, within our Family and Community Services Program. The position reports to the Integrated Family Services & Early Help Coordinator.
Key Selection Criteria:
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, child development, psychology, or a related field. Tertiary qualifications with family work experience will also be considered.
- Understanding and experience applying contemporary family violence frameworks in interventions with vulnerable children, young people, and parents with complex needs.
- Thorough understanding of child development and the challenges faced by vulnerable children, young people, and families.
- Strong skills in assessing risks, needs, and safety for children, young people, and families.
- High-level casework and case management skills, with experience working with complex and culturally diverse families.
- Ability to engage effectively with vulnerable children, young people, and families.

Must have:
- Valid driver's license;
- Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid by MacKillop);
