Senior Software Asset Manager

The Software Asset Management (SAM) role is a critical position within an organization. The key objective of this role is to deliver managed SAM outcomes, which include software request management, cost savings tracking, and software license entitlement reporting.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage software requests and resolve resolver groups in IT service management technology.
- Maintain the software asset register and supporting documentation.
- Allocate software licenses to users and devices in the software asset management system.
- Apply the software license reclamation policy to software inventory.
- Support technical teams with software installations and supply media and keys.
- Respond to licensing queries from stakeholders.
- Maintain the software renewal calendar.
- Deliver effective license position and software utilization reports.
- Identify and report compliance issues and risks.
This role requires a strong focus on data quality and accuracy, as well as excellent customer relationship building and management skills.
Requirements:- Demonstrated understanding of software asset management principles and standards.
- Sound technical knowledge in IT.
- Working knowledge of IT service management tools such as Service Now, Cherwell, and Remedy.
- A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Desirable: Understanding of software license agreements, financial terms, and analytical skills.
