Job Opportunity

This role is part of the Family and Community Services Team in the Eastern Region. The successful applicant will work at Forest Hill office, supporting families and preventing children from entering or re-entering care.

The Victorian Family Preservation and Reunification Program includes an initial intensive intervention phase, followed by a sustained service support phase. The team will work as a cohesive whole and report directly to the FPR Practice Leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Holding a relevant tertiary qualification, such as a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology, or a related subject area.
  • Significant work experience in a relevant field that supports an understanding of key child development issues relating to young parents and their families with complex needs.
  • Understanding and demonstrated experience working with issues such as attachment, trauma, and intergenerational disadvantage.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, but within 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, subject to client needs and program requirements.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Significant work experience in a relevant field.
  • Understanding and demonstrated experience working with issues such as attachment, trauma, and intergenerational disadvantage.

Preferred Knowledge/Experience:

  • Child development research and its application in treatment.
  • Using strengths-based, and child-centered family-focused theoretical models.
  • Completing and using assessment tools including the North Carolina Family Assessment Scale and Adverse Childhood Experiences Questionnaire.

Work Arrangements:

This is a Full-Time Fixed Term opportunity based in Forest Hill VIC within our Family Preservation and Reunification Program.
