
Electronics Leadership Position

The Electronics Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of the R&D department. This includes overseeing software development tasks, shepherding projects through design and production cycles, and taking ownership of product ecosystems from an architectural perspective.
This role requires strategic planning, project management, and technical expertise in electronic engineering. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the R&D process, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work closely with others in a collegiate environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the R&D department
- Oversee software development tasks
- Shepherd projects through design and production cycles
- Take ownership of product ecosystems
- Ensure projects meet time, budget, and quality standards
- Relevant qualifications in Electronic Engineering
- 5+ years of experience writing high-quality code in embedded systems (ARM/STM32/AVR32/Linux)
- Proficient with code development in C, C++, Python, embedded to full-stack cloud services
- Version control systems experience (SVN, GIT)
- Experience with typical embedded and IoT control peripherals
- Standard software engineering tools including build systems, revision control, bug tracking, test frameworks
- Electronic board circuit design and related layout tools (Altium)
- Knowledge and experience in IP network design and function
- Network and I.T. security issues
- An understanding of wireless communications protocols (WiFi, Bluetooth, BLE, Zigbee, NFC)
