Job Overview

As a Microsoft Senior Data Center IT Support Technician, you will play a key role in providing top-notch IT support for secure access workstations (SAWs), laptops, servers, and conference rooms Audio/Visual (A/V) equipment. You will also be responsible for maintaining inventory of spare devices and ensuring the latest updates and operating systems are installed on the devices.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure SAW devices are in optimal working condition, meeting Security's compliance standards.
  • Manage confidential information to perform BIOS setting changes.
  • Oversee SAW inventory, including ordering, receiving, assigning/re-assigning, and decommissioning devices.
  • Provide guidance to users on common SAW repair issues and escalate complex problems experienced by users.
  • Perform Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) for damaged SAWs within the first 30 days of receipt.
  • Offer senior-level support when needed, including performing power cycles, swap out failed components, handling storage media, and troubleshooting.
  • Support the deployment of on-site DC physical infrastructure, including Servers, NetDevices, SANs, Windows Server OS Support, Parts/Component replacement, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with the Data Center Inventory and Asset Management Team to manage shipping/receiving and inventory management during peak periods.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Able to meet Microsoft's security screening requirements, which include passing a background check and obtaining necessary certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical College degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, or equivalent work experience.
  • Applicable certifications: CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications.
  • Experience operating heavy-load movement equipment (pallet jacks, chassis lifts, etc.).
  • Flexibility to work non-business hours (shifts) that may include weekends and/or holidays.

Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is between $85,000 and $115,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
