Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Collections Manager to oversee the conservation and management of our art collections.

About the Role

  • Lead a team in delivering projects and activities that promote the conservation of our art collections, including inward loans and proposed acquisitions.
  • Manage risks associated with the collections, providing expert advice to internal and external stakeholders through various formats.
  • Supervise staff or contractors to safely handle, move, install, and/or undertake conservation activities on significant collection materials.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Proven experience leading teams in interventive and/or preventive conservation projects and programs for works of art and historical items.
  • Ability to lead high-performing members of a multi-disciplinary section in a public and sensitive environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate complex conservation techniques to various audiences.
  • Experience overseeing staff and contractors in workplace health and safety.
