Job Role Overview:

Acquiring new collections is a crucial aspect of our organization's mission. We are seeking an experienced professional to lead this effort, working collaboratively with curators and collection managers to ensure the efficient acquisition of new materials.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the activities of a small team, contributing to core collecting activities, and requiring strong communication skills to ensure requests are within the team's capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the acquisition pathways, including bulk e-deposits, legal deposit claiming, donations, and bequests
  • Undertake complex work in archival and published purchases, as well as the Cultural Gifts program
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure new collections are acquired efficiently

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in collection management in the heritage sector is desirable
