Senior System Administrator

Cubic Transportation Systems (Australia) Pty Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior System Administrator to join our APAC IT operations team.
Job Summary:This role will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting Cubic Customers' Production, Test, and Development Infrastructure, primarily Windows and Linux, with some work on Solaris and VMware platforms.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and progress incident tickets and tasks to completion in accordance with SLAs.
- Maintain the estate of mission-critical servers running customer applications.
- Analyze and troubleshoot production faults and make recommendations for the most effective course of action.
- Provide support to other internal teams, including application teams and DBAs.
- Proactively monitor servers and related infrastructure.
- Patching and vulnerability remediation.
- Plan, document, communicate, and execute planned changes through the change management process.
- Provide out-of-hours support for scheduled work.
- Provide out-of-hours on-call support as part of an on-call roster when necessary.
- Degree qualified in information technology or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Industry certification for Solaris, Linux, Windows, VMware, and/or networking.
- Experience hosting SQL database environments.
- Knowledge of LAN and WAN-based technologies.
- Knowledge of Active Directory.
- Knowledge of Solaris.
- Knowledge of SAN connectivity to servers.
- Knowledge of server and networking protocols (TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, SMTP, ICMP, ICA, SMB).
- Knowledge of operating system hardening.
- Scripting (VBS, and PowerShell).
- This role will require flexibility regarding working hours and location, including weekend and out-of-hours, based in the CBD office, datacenters hosting equipment, and at remote sites.
- Possess great verbal and written communication skills.
- Disciplined approach to change management and system documentation.
- Display strong abilities writing technology-based documentation.
- Self-motivated.
- Follow through issues to a resolution no matter how hard it gets.
- Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure.
- Ability to communicate confidently at all levels.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Have the flexibility to travel when required.
- Team player.
