Service Desk Officer Job Description

As a Service Desk Officer, you will be the primary point of contact for technology support queries, providing exceptional customer service to colleagues across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a customer service and administration role and/or a certificate in business administration. Strong communication and administrative skills are essential, along with a high work ethic, curiosity, and a willingness to take on new challenges.

The role involves providing outstanding customer service, supporting staff devices and corporate equipment, managing and maintaining the Service Desk, including resolving, triaging and escalating calls and service request tickets, looking after Council's mobile phone fleet and accessories, onboarding, training and induction of staff to Councils' corporate network and operations, and maintaining accurate IT documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to colleagues across the organisation
  • Technical Support: Support staff devices and corporate equipment
  • Service Desk Management: Manage and maintain the Service Desk, including resolving, triaging and escalating calls and service request tickets
  • Mobile Phone Fleet Management: Look after Council's mobile phone fleet and accessories
  • Onboarding and Training: Onboard, train and induct staff to Councils' corporate network and operations
  • IT Documentation: Maintain accurate IT documentation
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Customer Service Experience: Experience in a customer service and administration role
  • Certificate in Business Administration: Certificate in business administration or equivalent
  • Communication and Administrative Skills: Strong communication and administrative skills
  • Work Ethic and Curiosity: High work ethic, curiosity, and willingness to take on new challenges
