About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environment Professional to join our team at BlueScope Steel. As a key member of our Australian Steel Markets business, you will play a critical role in supporting our Orrcon Steel business in South Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with frontline management teams to coach, develop, and support our manufacturing business to achieve its health and safety requirements.
  • Oversee governance requirements, supporting the team with conducting and reporting due diligence activities.
  • Support implementation of the Orrcon Steel Health, Safety and Environment plan.
  • Coach and support leaders to understand their risk profile and critical controls, and actively seek higher levels of control.
  • Deliver HSE advice to our leaders, thinking beyond the quick fix, to promote continual improvement in the engagement of people and management of risk.
  • Oversee serious incident investigations, facilitating engagement to understand how work is done and adoption of fit for purpose solutions.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in governance HSE management systems and critical risk controls.
  • Ability to influence and coach stakeholders at all levels of the business.
  • Ability to promote and inspire innovation and change.
  • Experience in incident investigation.
  • Ability to work autonomously and balance day-to-day tasks.
