About the Role

We are seeking a consultative and professional Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) Advisor to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role reports directly to the Head of HSEQ and is responsible for operational support of our workforce and stakeholders in WA and SA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide health and safety support to Equans divisions in WA and SA, and other regions as required.
  • Support employees, supervisors, and managers in providing technical support and advice to facilitate continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with and coordinate HS&E related audit and accreditation/certification processes.
  • Lead and coordinate incident investigations, report production, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Review pre-employment and medical assessments, and recommend employment suitability.
  • Coordinate and develop company-specific training programs, including toolbox meeting topics.
  • Review contractors' pre-qualification and manage the contractor management system.
  • Carry out site inspections to ensure safety compliance of the health and safety management system.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety or a recognised qualification in a similar discipline.
  • At least 3 to 5 years experience working in Health and Safety as an Advisor.
  • Return to Work and Rehabilitation qualifications and/or experience.
  • Training in or experience in ICAM.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating HS&E activities and projects.
  • Understanding of and ability to research HS&E legislation, trends, and issues.
  • High standard of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical skills in reviewing activities and identifying key actions to deliver improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and foster a proactive safety culture.
