About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist to join our team at BlueScope Steel. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective health, safety, and environmental management systems to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training and coaching to employees on health, safety, and environmental procedures and best practices.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in health, safety, and environmental management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and coach stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong focus on results and continuous improvement.
