About this Role

The role of Business Support Officer is a key position within our organisation, providing administrative support to the Executive team and Gallery Board.

Responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, leading budget reporting and analysis, and supporting the development of the annual budget. The successful candidate will also provide executive support to the Director and Assistant Director–Engagement, including preparing official correspondence and reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely submission of financial reports.
  • Providing administrative support to the Executive team and Gallery Board, including preparation of agendas, minutes, and reports.
  • Overseeing business support functions, such as donor record management and grant proposals.
  • Managing contracts for outsourced services, including lease agreements.

About You

We are seeking a highly organised and results-focused individual with a strong understanding of financial acumen and excellent stakeholder engagement skills. The successful candidate will be able to respond quickly to new challenges and priorities, and work effectively in a team environment.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification, demonstrated experience in office management, financial management, and/or accounting procedures and practices, or lesser formal qualification with relevant experience and skills. They will also possess high level interpersonal skills, with experience in managing stakeholder expectations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with some demonstrated experience in Office Management, Financial Management and/or accounting procedures and practices or lesser formal qualification with relevant experience and skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets and reporting.
  • High level interpersonal skills with experience in managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritising competing demands to achieve work targets.
