Overview

Microsoft is empowering individuals and organizations worldwide to achieve more. As part of the Azure Software Defined Networking Fundamentals team, you will be responsible for driving innovation in large scale cloud orchestration.

This role involves working with a mix of greenfield and existing .NET services, globally distributed, on projects that cross team and organization boundaries. You will collaborate with stakeholders to determine user requirements, drive the development of design documents, and create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance and maintainability.

As a senior software engineer, you will leverage your subject-matter expertise to drive project plans, release plans, and work items forward. Additionally, you will act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers by developing and following playbooks, monitoring systems for degradation, and initiating actions to restore them when necessary.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science or a related technical field, with 4+ years of experience in coding languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. A Bachelor's degree is required, but a Master's degree or equivalent experience is also considered. Preferred qualifications include 8+ years of experience in distributed systems design and implementation, especially microservice architecture, and experience building and working on large-scale orchestration frameworks.
