We are seeking an experienced Cloud Data Architect to join our team at Vero Insurance. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex cloud-based systems that drive business growth and innovation.

About the Role

This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne with flexible working locations. As a Cloud Data Architect, you will be part of a collaborative team that values innovation, creativity, and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based data platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology solutions with business objectives
  • Develop and maintain technical standards, architecture, and best practices for cloud-based data systems
  • Ensure platforms, systems, and services are engineered for resilience and scalability to achieve service objectives
  • Identify, develop, and implement automation or optimization opportunities, focusing on cost, availability, and performance
  • Contribute to large-scale platform and service implementations from inception to production, maintaining quality documentation and procedures for ongoing support
  • Share knowledge and collaborate with team members to maximize skills and capabilities
  • Simplify processes while driving innovation, supporting continuous improvement, and enabling teams to adapt quickly to changes

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information TechnologyAWS Associate or Professional Certification is highly desirableAt least 2 years of industry experience in large enterprise organizationsStrong scripting skills, particularly with Python, and extensive experience with cloud services (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and influencing abilitiesDemonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and trends, work collaboratively in innovative team environments, and lead through transformational changes
