High-Voltage Transmission Engineer Role Overview

This is a challenging and rewarding role for an experienced transmission engineer to work on high-voltage overhead lines, substations, and BESS integration.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and the ability to develop stringing and tower methodologies aligned to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bid Engineering & Technical Strategy
    • Analyse tender documents and contract specifications to determine project requirements
    • Develop accurate estimates and pricing models using engineering inputs and supplier quotations
    • Collaborate with procurement to engage subcontractors and build detailed bill of quantities
    • Contribute to risk reviews and align project timelines with delivery milestones
  • Tender Delivery
    • Work closely with internal bid teams to ensure technical responses are strategically positioned
    • Stress-test programs against environmental, access, and sequencing constraints
    • Support preparation of non-priced attributes for major tenders
    • Meet submission requirements through collaboration with document control and tender coordinators
  • Project Readiness & Support
    • Ensure smooth handover to delivery teams by contributing to methodology briefings and clarifying assumptions
    • Review subcontractor submissions for alignment with bid scope
    • Draw on learnings from recent projects and industry changes to improve estimating practices
