Urban Forestry Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as a Technical Arboriculture Officer. This role is pivotal in implementing programs and initiatives that aim to prevent and minimize tree loss due to the Polyphagous Shot Hole Borer (PSHB) invasive pest species.
As a vital member of the Parks and Environment Technical Team, you will engage and collaborate with various stakeholders including local governments, state government agencies, the general public, and industry associations. Your contributions will also support capacity building and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage and deliver programs related to PSHB management in the Urban Forest, ensuring compliance with state legislation and supporting strategic greening objectives.
- Effectively utilize existing systems, processes, and tools to coordinate, deliver, and report on PSHB-related programs and initiatives.
- Monitor and periodically report on PSHB infestation status within the Urban Forest and progress of related programs and initiatives, aligning with agreed metrics and operational priorities.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and possess a strong understanding of arboriculture principles and practices.
