Support Worker

We are seeking a Support Worker to join our team in the Flinders Far North area. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting clients with activities of daily living and providing support services in their own home.

About the Role
  • Promote client choice and positive routines to ensure they are meaningful to the client.
  • Ability to work shifts in set time blocks/pattern rostering.
  • Ability to drive client/company vehicles.
  • Proactive in supporting clients to enhance their life choices both at home and in the community.
  • Report changes in client's health, care plans or if additional services are needed.
  • Review regularly communications received via email, support worker connect and other communication methods to ensure current knowledge of policies, procedures and activities across Calvary.
  • Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and the health and safety of others within the workplace.
  • Protect the rights and confidentiality of clients by ensuring the care provided maintains client dignity and privacy.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of Certificate III in Individualised Support, Home & Community Services, Aged Care or equivalent.
  • Current full drivers licence.
  • Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate & CPR.
  • Living in the Southern Suburbs or on the Southern Fleurieu is highly desirable.
  • Reliable motor vehicle (including valid registration & full comprehensive third party insurance).
  • Smart mobile phone or device.
  • NDIS Clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Police Clearance (within 6 months or willingness to obtain one).
  • Access to the internet and experience using a computer, systems and applications.
  • Capacity to embrace a role that is meaningful for the community and yourself.
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission-based organisation.
