Job Description

Job Title: Field Service Engineer - Threat Detection and Screening

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team at Smiths Group Plc. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining our threat detection and screening technologies at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain equipment in the field
  • Provide customer training as required
  • Document all inspections, maintenance, and repair work and submit paperwork in a timely manner
  • Order, install, and return parts and manage repair parts cycle time
  • Review all logs for open issues and prepare formal reports to customers as necessary
  • Participate in service sales opportunities and assist with promoting and implementing revenue programs
  • Ensure that tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated
  • Assess product/equipment performance based on field support data; recommend modifications or improvements where applicable
  • Provide technical support to customers and other service professionals as required
  • Possess a solid level of technical knowledge on the main company's products in the region
  • Establish and maintain a close relationship with senior level FSEs and Product Specialists to support customer needs and remain aware of current technical trends
  • Exercise every available measure to control and minimize costs
  • Comply with and ensure department compliance with company health, safety, and environmental policies

Requirements:

  • Relevant technical training and 0-2 years of related experience
  • Equivalence achieved through comparative work and life experience is acceptable
  • Computer literacy, competency in the use of all programs within the MS Office Suite, and aptitude for learning specialized software programs
  • 0-2 years of experience directly involved in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems and equipment
  • Good communication skills and a strong orientation for customer focus and teamwork
  • Must be willing & able to travel at short notice and be on-call as per the roster
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask several projects at once
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle stressful situations
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable individual
  • Self-starter, able to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Ability to acquire and maintain relevant security clearance and industry-related licenses
