We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Field Mining Services Group. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems, maintaining and supporting existing equipment, and working on product engineering activities.

  • Design and develop mechanical systems, including 2D and 3D CAD packages, drafting, FEA analysis, and mechanical design and calculations to Australian standards.
  • Maintain and support existing equipment, including heavy equipment support and lift plans.
  • Work on product engineering activities, including development of local and customer modifications, onsite customer support, and support workshop teams with builds, compliance, and technical support.

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering with preferably 4 years' experience, however exceptional graduates will be considered.
  • 3D scanning experience is highly advantageous.
  • Trade and knowledge of AS/NZ Engineering Standards, Quality Standards ISO 9001; Mine Design Guidelines and ISO Standards highly advantageous.
  • Ability to perform basic engineering calculations.
  • Able to demonstrate conceptual, analytical, and collaborative skills, including the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Well-developed computer skills, including the use of word processing and spreadsheets, as well as using CAD software SolidWorks preferred.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
