Job Summary

The Engagement Advisor role is a unique opportunity to make a real impact in the community by providing professional advice and engagement support on diverse capital projects.

This position works closely with stakeholders to develop and implement effective engagement plans, ensuring full, open, and inclusive consultation with all affected customers and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities while working within allocated timeframes.


Responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive engagement strategies for capital projects.
  • Creating high-quality communication materials to support project engagement.
  • Managing external consultants and contractors responsible for delivering community and stakeholder engagement.
  • Making informed decisions regarding the right balance of engagement activities for projects.
  • Ensuring seamless delivery of engagement business and administrative requirements.
  • Nurturing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Providing targeted engagement support for various activities across the Resilient Communities team.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in planning, implementing, and managing community and stakeholder engagement projects at a strategic and practical level.
  • Strong knowledge of developing community/stakeholder engagement for major infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly relating to writing and presenting information to diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with people at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within allocated timeframes and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Proficient computer literacy using MS Office based products.
  • Specialist knowledge of the IAP2 model and principles of engagement would be highly desirable but not essential.
