Senior Legal Expert

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Legal Expert to join our team as a Complaints Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and guidance on complaints management and student misconduct processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing timely and practical legal advice to the University's Complaints Management Project
- Leading a complaints management function within a large and complex organization
- Developing and implementing effective complaints management strategies
- Providing advice to faculties, schools, and education portfolio staff in relation to student discipline and progression issues, appeals, and student welfare and complaints
Requirements:
- Qualifications in law and admission to practice in Australia and hold a current practicing certificate
- Approximately 10 years post-admission legal experience
- Experience in leading a complaints management function within a higher education sector is advantageous
- Demonstrated understanding of administrative law principles, GIPA Act, and federal and NSW privacy legislation
