About the Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel- Regulatory Lead to head up the regulatory compliance legal stream. In this pivotal role, you'll partner with senior stakeholders and the General Counsel, providing expert advice on regulatory change, risk management, and compliance frameworks. You'll also contribute to major strategic projects, helping shape the bank's approach to emerging regulatory issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Regulatory legal stream, providing advice on complex regulatory matters and strategic initiative
• Advise on financial services regulatory issues including FSR, Privacy, AML/CTF, NCCP and Consumer Credit
• Oversee breach reporting processes, remediation and compliance frameworks
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements with a focus on risk and compliance
• Support the business in preparing for regulatory reviews and implementing regulatory change

About You

• 7-10 years PQE, with strong regulatory and compliance experience in the retail banking sector
• Deep understanding of FSR, NCCP, AML/CTF, Privacy and related legislation
• Proven ability to lead on compliance frameworks, risk management, breach reporting and remediation
• Excellent drafting, advisory and stakeholder management skills
• Commercial mindset with the ability to influence and guide senior decision-makers
