Aged Care Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to provide high-quality clinical leadership and guidance to healthcare professionals, older people, and their families in a Generalist Aged Care setting. As a seasoned expert in wound, continence care, and infection control, you will be responsible for implementing contemporary evidence-based policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implementing up-to-date, research-based approaches to wound management, pressure injury prevention (PIP), and continence care.
  • Providing expert guidance and mentorship to healthcare teams, promoting excellence in patient care and family-centered support.
  • Serving as a valuable resource for colleagues seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills in wound, continence care, and infection control practices.
  • Fostering a culture of compassionate care and dignity for older adults and their loved ones.
  • Collaborating with clinical experts, academics, and operations teams to integrate best practices in wound management, PIP, continence, and infection control into daily workflows.
Requirements:
  • Endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner by the relevant authority and registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrated experience in aged care with a focus on wound management.
  • Scope of practice encompassing wounds, pressure area care, and continence.
  • Advanced degree in nursing or higher, or working towards.
  • Proven expertise in wound and pressure injury prevention.
  • Skilled in holistic clinical assessment and critical thinking.
  • Confidence in leveraging telehealth and digital solutions for remote support and advice.
  • Effective leadership and commercial acumen in a clinical setting, with a track record of mentoring and developing staff.
  • Understanding of aged care legal and ethical considerations, including advance care directives and decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects and delivering results.
  • Ability to travel to various locations across NSW and SE QLD.
