Glencore is a leading global commodities producer and marketer. Our McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world-class zinc-lead mine with a long future. We are seeking a highly skilled Mine Technician - Water Management Specialist to join our team.

**Job Summary:

We are looking for a Mine Technician - Water Management Specialist to work collaboratively with our Environment, Mining, and Metallurgy departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspections, monitoring, and reporting of dams, data collection, management, analysis, and reporting, and working with our water planning engineers and dewatering team to identify and action improvements to the water management system.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • **Inspections and Monitoring:** Conduct regular inspections and monitoring of dams, including assessment against Trigger, Action, and Response Plans and actioning appropriately.
  • **Data Management:** Collect, manage, analyze, and report data using MS Excel and real-time monitoring programs.
  • **Water Management System:** Work with the water planning engineers and dewatering team to identify and action improvements to the water management system.
  • **Instrumentation:** Safely and efficiently install, operate, and maintain key instrumentation such as vibrating wire piezometers, water level sensors, electrical conductivity monitors, flowmeters, and pressure meters.
  • **Asset Management:** Assist the dewatering team with asset management of key infrastructure such as pumps, pipelines, lime treatment plants, compressors, generators, and other equipment.
  • **Stakeholder Engagement:** Work closely with the Environment team to achieve environmental water management objectives and engage with internal and external stakeholders.

**Requirements:

  • **Computer Literacy:** Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and other relevant software.
  • **Water Management Experience:** Experience with water management instrumentation, data management systems, and external compliance reporting.
  • **Surveying Experience:** Experience with surveying and mapping techniques.
