About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mine Technician - Water Management Specialist to join our team at Glencore Australia's McArthur River Mine. As a key member of our Water Management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient management of water resources at our mine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Water Management and Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections and monitoring of dams, including assessment against Trigger, Action and Response Plans, and take appropriate action to ensure compliance.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, manage, analyze, and report data using MS Excel and real-time monitoring programs, requiring a sound knowledge of data management systems.
  • Instrumentation and Asset Management: Safely and efficiently install, operate, and maintain key instrumentation such as vibrating wire piezometers, water level sensors, electrical conductivity monitors, flowmeters, and pressure meters, as well as assist with asset management of key infrastructure.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with the environment team to achieve environmental water management objectives, and effectively engage with internal stakeholders, including environment, mining, and metallurgy teams, as well as external contractors.
Requirements
  • Computer Literacy and MS Excel Skills: Proficient in the use of MS Excel and other computer applications.
  • Manual Driver's License: Possess a valid manual driver's license.
  • Experience in Water Management: Experience with water management instrumentation and data management systems is preferred, while experience with external compliance reporting and surveying is desirable.
