Technical Security Capability Lead

The Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking a skilled professional for the role of Technical Security Capability Lead in the Technical Surveillance Countermeasures team. This highly specialised, technical role attracts a competitive remuneration package.
About the RoleThis leadership position will lead a small multi-role technical team responsible for the research and development that underpins Defence's technical security capability. Key areas of responsibility include:
- Designing and implementing technical solutions to advance Defence's capability.
- Integrating new technologies and methodologies.
- Providing comprehensive technical evaluation and analysis of equipment and technologies.
- Managing research and development initiatives of emerging technical threats to Defence.
- Providing advice on complex technical security matters to key stakeholders.
- Leading integration testing and evaluation of systems and subsystem components using industry standard test equipment such as spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, vector network analysers and signal generators.
A salary of approximately $120,000 per annum is available for this position.
About Our TeamThe Technical Security Capability Development team is a dynamic and highly skilled unit dedicated to advancing Defence's technical security capability. Comprising technicians and engineers, this small multidisciplinary team provides overarching support to technical security operations, acting as a security protection layer against technical surveillance threats to Defence.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will have:
- An Engineering Degree in Electronics or Radio Frequency technologies.
- Demonstrated experience in managing teams, leading projects, teaching groups and presenting to various audiences with different technical backgrounds.
- Familiarity with WHS requirements, regulations and policy.
- Prior knowledge of or experience in managing budgets and/or Defence's procurement processes.
