Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to lead our maintenance operations at a Lysterfield Quarry.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in fixed plant maintenance and a proven ability to drive a culture of preventative maintenance.

This role is critical to ensuring the reliability and performance of our fixed plant, and the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing asset management plans, managing consumables, and monitoring equipment condition.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Champion a preventative maintenance culture that focuses on asset longevity and reliability
  • Ensure all fixed plant and equipment are operating safely and within statutory requirements
  • Develop and oversee asset management plans, including rebuilds, major inspections, and lifecycle strategies
  • Manage consumables, focusing on optimising screen media usage and minimising unnecessary costs or waste
  • Ensure effective management of critical components and spares to minimise plant downtime
  • Monitor and action findings from gearbox condition monitoring, with a focus on timely resolution
  • Conduct regular fixed plant health checks using established methodologies, ensuring proactive maintenance and compliance
  • Manage contractor performance, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with service expectations
  • Track and control repairs and maintenance costs, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure scheduled maintenance procedures are followed
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance planning, plant performance, and safety

Requirements:

  • Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Fitter, Mechanic, Boilermaker)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a fixed plant maintenance environment (quarry, mining, or heavy industry preferred)
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Working knowledge of SAP CMMS or similar systems
  • Strong understanding of safety systems, risk management, and Zero Harm principles
  • Working at Heights, EWP licence, and manual driver's licence
  • A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with a passion for troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Strong team leadership, planning, and interpersonal skills to engage with both internal teams and external contractors
