About the role

Our client, an organisation responsible for administering petroleum and greenhouse gas titles in Commonwealth Australian waters, is seeking a Strategic Financial Governance Specialist at the APS6 level.

The successful candidate will support and prepare financial assessments, corporate governance frameworks, and risk management analysis, as well as develop written advice to assist with compliance assessments.

An initial 12-month labour hire contract is on offer, with possible long-term extension.

This position can be based in Melbourne, VIC or Perth, WA, but a remote working arrangement may be considered for the right candidate. Only Australian citizens with the ability to obtain/maintain a Baseline security clearance can be considered.

Duties:
  • Analyse and provide advice on financial information, corporate governance, and risk management data for companies participating in the relevant industry.
  • Draft well-written, concise, and relevant advice to decision-makers.
  • Use in-house financial models to assess financial resources.
  • Monitor and analyse financial reports (company balance sheet, cashflow, capital and balance sheet metrics), capital cost estimates, and data from existing and new infrastructure projects.
  • Review governance reports lodged with relevant bodies and prepare advice for senior management.
Required skills and qualifications:
  • A relevant technical or accounting/finance degree is required.
  • Demonstrated high-level knowledge and experience to undertake corporate governance and risk management framework analysis, prepare reports, communicate findings effectively, perform data analysis, build and maintain financial models.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical research abilities and presentation skills.
Estimated salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum
