About the Role

We are seeking a Financial Governance Specialist at the APS6 level for our Commonwealth Government client, responsible for administering petroleum and greenhouse gas titles in Commonwealth Australian waters.

The successful candidate will support financial assessment, corporate governance, and risk management framework analysis, developing written advice to assist with compliance assessments.

An initial 12-month labour hire contract is on offer, with possible long-term extension.

A remote working arrangement may be considered for the right candidate.

Please note: Only Australian citizens with the ability to obtain/maintain a Baseline security clearance can be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse and provide advice on financial information, corporate governance, and risk management data for companies participating in the relevant industry.
  • Draft well-written, concise, and relevant advice to decision-makers.
  • Utilise in-house financial models to assess financial resources.
  • Monitor and analyse financial reports (company balance sheet, cashflow, capital, and balance sheet metrics), capital cost estimates, and data from existing and new infrastructure projects.
  • Review governance reports lodged with relevant bodies and prepare advice for senior management.
Requirements:
  • Relevant technical or accounting/finance degree required.
  • Demonstrated high-level knowledge and experience to undertake corporate governance and risk management framework analysis, prepare reports, effectively communicate findings, undertake data analysis, build, and maintain financial models.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical research abilities and presentation skills.

Estimated salary for this position is AU$70,000 - AU$100,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
