Position Summary:

We are in search of a proactive leader to join our team as a Senior Project Manager, playing a pivotal role in the strategic planning and governance of capital initiatives.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Capital Projects Delivery, this position involves supporting the effective delivery of capital projects, ensuring compliance with established standards, and implementing enhancements. You will be responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of project managers in the planning and execution of programs and projects, leveraging your expertise to foster team leadership. Your advanced interpersonal and negotiation skills will be essential for engaging with both internal and external stakeholders, while you monitor project advancement and assess outcomes.

This role offers flexibility in location, with the possibility of being based in the Snowy Monaro region or Canberra, requiring occasional attendance at our office.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A Diploma in Project Management or a minimum of 7 years' experience in managing large-scale, complex, and high-risk projects.
  • Proven project management capabilities with a track record of leading and executing tasks effectively.
  • Experience in managing project performance alongside project managers.
  • Strong negotiation skills with key stakeholders and external contractors.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Adaptability to changing circumstances and demands in a constructive manner.
  • Proficient in interpreting work scopes and relevant documentation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of WHS, Safety in Design, Environmental, Quality, and EEO policies and standards.
