The Role

We are seeking a natural leader to join our team as a Senior Project Manager and play a key role in the planning and governance of capital projects. Reporting to the Manager of Capital Projects Delivery, this role will see you supporting strategic delivery of capital projects, ensuring alignment of standards and implementing improvements. You will oversee and manage a team of project managers in program/project planning and execution by sharing your expertise and being a leader for the team. Using your highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, you will communicate with internal and external stakeholders, whilst monitoring project progress and evaluating project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and manage large-scale, complex, high-risk, varying, and/or multiple projects.
  2. Develop and implement project management plans, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  3. Manage and lead project performance, including monitoring progress and evaluating outcomes.
  4. Negotiate with key stakeholders and external contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
  5. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
  6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in project management.

Requirements

  1. Diploma in Project Management and/or a minimum of 7 years of experience managing large-scale, complex, high-risk, varying, and/or multiple projects.
  2. Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to lead and execute tasks.
  3. Ability to manage and lead project performance with project managers.
  4. Ability to negotiate with key stakeholders and external contractors.
  5. Ability to work both alone and as part of a team.
  6. Able to quickly and effectively adapt to changing circumstances and demands in a measured and constructive way.
  7. Ability to read and understand work scopes and other relevant information.
  8. Sound knowledge of WHS, Safety in Design, Environmental, Quality, and EEO policies, procedures, and standards.
