Job Summary:

The Project Management Office Director is responsible for leading the effective operation of the branch, providing strategic vision, and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills to spearhead key business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide influential leadership and direction across the PMO
  • Lead communications and stakeholder management with senior leaders both internal and external to the team
  • Provide expert policy analysis and strategic advice to the leadership team
  • Be responsible for the development and implementation of commercial strategies, quality management systems and risk management strategies
  • Develop policies and frameworks to ensure the effective operation of PMO business
  • Encourage and facilitate opportunities for career advancement, leadership development programs and continuous learning initiatives
  • Drive a positive and team-oriented workplace culture where inclusion, mutual support and collaboration are encouraged, to foster a productive and enjoyable work environment

About Our Team:

The Henderson Consolidation Taskforce was established to optimise some of Australia's existing naval shipbuilding and sustainment industrial base to support continuous naval shipbuilding at Henderson, Western Australia.

The Taskforce has a mix of full-time APS employees and contractors. The intent will be that the Taskforce will transition into a new Henderson Consolidation Branch, under Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG).

  • Effective communication skills to engage effectively with senior stakeholders, both internal and external to Defence
  • A strong leadership and direction to develop strategies to resolve commercial issues, changes in scope, and growth opportunities within existing contracts
  • The ability to actively influence and engage personnel within the business to ensure that commercial risks are identified and addressed proactively
  • In-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and policy requirements
