About the Role

This Business Partner (BP) role is a generalist position responsible for partnering with a portfolio to implement and/or deploy HR strategies to meet business objectives through improved leader and employee performance, engagement, and productivity. The position supports the Senior Officer, People & Culture in the development and delivery of a highly engaged workforce and the implementation of specific local people initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support, coach, and mentor school leadership teams in the effective implementation and utilization of performance and development processes and frameworks to continuously improve quality teaching and to build leadership capability.
  • Case management of complex issues involving staff, including the ability to lead investigations.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a comprehensive toolkit of processes, systems, and policies around people and performance, ensuring they are regularly reviewed for simplicity and effectiveness.
  • Provide coaching on all the processes, systems, and policies to school executive teams, ensuring consistent, high-quality application.
  • Proactively manage and lead initiatives to support the culture and a high level of engagement throughout the System by all employees.
  • Work collaboratively with the People & Culture team to develop and implement programs and initiatives to cultivate and extend talent and leadership capability across the system.
  • Uphold the mission by modeling positive relationships and acting in a manner that creates a safe and productive educational and pastoral environment.
  • Ensure the Senior Officer People & Culture is immediately made aware of any issues regarding employees that could potentially lead to liability for the System, including potential or actual personal grievances, disciplinary action for alleged serious misconduct, and serious health and safety incidents.
  • Support the implementation of the approved operating plan, reporting monthly on achievement of goals and KPIs to the Senior Officer.
  • Actively contribute to the People and Culture Business Partner team in accordance with the Strategic Plan and the People Strategy, support the development of a strategic people resource plan detailing objectives and the initiatives required to achieve these.

Qualifications

Postgraduate qualifications from an accredited institution in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with relevant working experience.

Current working with Children's registrations in NSW and ACT (WWCC and WWVP).

Current Driver's License.

Selection Criteria

  • Diverse HR generalist, ideally with minimum 5 years' experience.
  • Highly developed communication skills including managing conflict and negotiating to achieve outcomes.
  • Highly experienced in providing advice and assisting in matters relating to multiple enterprise agreements and/or industrial instruments.
  • Professional knowledge of performance management processes.
  • Strong workplace investigation and resolution skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to dynamic and complex situations utilizing sound judgment and decision making.
